You can travel, but returning to the country you fled may raise serious questions about your ongoing need for protection.
As a permanent resident you have a travel facility and can leave and re-enter Australia. However, the Protection visa is granted because you cannot safely return to your home country.
Travelling back to the country you claimed protection from can call your protection claims into doubt and may have visa consequences. Many protection visa holders also obtain a special travel document rather than using their original national passport. It is wise to seek advice before travelling, especially to or near your country of origin.
