The validity of your EU Blue Card depends on your employment contract, within a range of a minimum of nine months and a maximum of four years. If your contract is shorter than the maximum, the card is typically tied to the contract length plus a short additional period.
You can renew the card by applying to the Swedish Migration Agency before the current one expires. Applying on time helps you keep working while the extension is processed, so do not let your card lapse.
