Family immigration lets close family — spouses, partners, cohabitants, fiancé(e)s and children — join a sponsor in Norway. The sponsor must meet an income requirement, and for spouses both parties are usually at least 24.
Norway's family immigration rules cover both reuniting existing families and forming new ones. They allow close family members — a spouse, registered partner, cohabitant, fiancé(e) or child — to join someone living in Norway, or to join a Norwegian or Nordic citizen.
The core conditions sit with the sponsor: they must meet Norway's income, or subsistence, requirement, and for spouses and partners both people are usually required to be at least 24 years old. You will also need to document your identity and provide evidence of the genuine family relationship, such as marriage or birth certificates.
Applications are made to UDI, and the income and relationship checks are central, so good documentation makes a real difference. ACME can help you assess whether the sponsor meets the subsistence requirement and prepare the relationship evidence, and we always suggest confirming the current thresholds on udi.no before you apply.
