You may still be eligible for the permanent visa if your relationship ends, your partner dies, or you experience family violence. All information is treated confidentially.
Although the partner visa is based on an ongoing relationship, the law contains protections. If your relationship ends, if your sponsoring partner dies, or if you experience family violence, you may still be eligible for grant of the permanent Partner visa (subclass 100).
Depending on your situation you may need to complete a Notification of Relationship Cessation in ImmiAccount. The Family Violence Provisions exist specifically so that applicants are not forced to remain in an abusive relationship to keep their visa. The Department treats all information you provide as confidential and also offers online-safety guidance such as changing your ImmiAccount password.
