Does the DLI I choose affect my Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility?

Your choice of DLI directly affects whether you can later get a Post-Graduation Work Permit. Graduating from a public DLI generally keeps you on track, while most private career colleges do not qualify for a PGWP.

If you graduate with a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from a public DLI, you remain exempt from the field-of-study restrictions. For non-degree programs such as diplomas and certificates, the program must be in an eligible field linked to labour shortages, so the institution and program both matter.
