You can stay for up to 24 months. Only nationals of Australia, Canada and New Zealand can extend, by up to one more year.
The Youth Mobility Scheme visa allows you to live in the UK for up to 24 months from when your visa starts. If you turn 31 (or above the upper limit) after the visa is granted, you can still stay for the full validity period.
Most participants cannot extend this visa. The exception is for nationals of Australia, Canada and New Zealand, who can apply to extend their stay by up to one additional year. For everyone else, you must leave when the 24 months end unless you qualify for a different visa.
