A major advantage of the GSS is that the expedited service standard can extend to your immediate family. If you are eligible for two-week processing, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children are also eligible, provided you all submit complete applications at the same time.

Your spouse or common-law partner may be able to apply for an open work permit, letting them work for almost any employer, and dependent children can apply to study. Make sure each family member files a complete application and biometrics promptly so no one falls outside the fast timeline.
