If you are let go through no fault of your own, you can apply for a job-seeking permit of up to six months, but you generally must apply within about two days, and you are not allowed to work during that job-seeking period.
The job-seeking permit gives you time to find a new qualifying position instead of having to leave Denmark immediately. The deadline to apply is short, so act quickly if your employment ends unexpectedly.
A key point is that the job-seeking permit does not let you work - it only allows you to remain in Denmark to search. Once you secure a new qualifying job you will normally submit a new work-permit application, and you should also confirm the profession is still on the Positive List at that time.
