The employee card is normally valid for the duration of your employment, up to a maximum of 2 years. It may be issued for a shorter period if it is limited by the length of your contract, your work permit validity, or a training period.
The card can be extended repeatedly as long as you still meet the conditions, with each extension granted for up to 2 years at a time. You should apply for an extension before your current card expires to keep your residence and work authorisation continuous.
