Can I work for any employer at all on an open work permit?

An open work permit gives broad freedom to choose your employer, but there are two main exceptions. You cannot work for an employer that appears on the official list of employers who failed to comply with the conditions (the ineligible employers list).

You also cannot work for an employer that, on a regular basis, offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services, or erotic massages. These restrictions are designed to protect workers. Aside from these, you are generally free to work for any legitimate employer and to change jobs without applying for a new permit.
